Leaving the Sea and heading for the Mountains

Yesterday I left the beautiful Gulf of California or more specifically Bajia de los Angeles. I kayaked all around the bay in search of whale sharks but unfortunately did not find any. My dog jumped off the kayak after a pelican and confirmed that chihuahuas are terrible swimmers. I visited the local museum in town which I found very interesting, and had dinner with a nice couple Scott and Petra who spend their summers in LA bay and their winters in palm desert. True desert folks.

Last night I stayed in Guerro Negro's finest $20 dollar motel. Today I am heading up into the mountains to see about hiring a guide to take me to the world heritage cave paintings of the San Francisco mts. Apparently you need a week to do it and you ride a burro. Should be interesting.

The room was not to bad for twenty dollars. No hot water and the TV only had one channel with a big black box in the center of the screen, and bad audio. They did have free internet which was nice, and they did not seem to mind that Hunter was staying here as well.

Hey man this is Justin. I emailed you but Steph said yours isnt working right now. It was a crazy ride back. sputtering all the way to the border line where it died. Had to push it across the border. The US agents wernt to thrilled with me. Then like the bad ass truck she is, it fired up and got me peeling out of secondary. Made it to my work wearhouse and died again. Its at the mechanics now.
No Whale Sharks is a bummer but it looked beautiful in La bay. Wish I got to send you off better, and finish my vacation. I was just getting in to Baja mode. Now I am working with Pauly G to get money for my truck. What a rude awakening.
Cant wait to hear bout the donkey ride.
    Have a blast.
    Talk to you soon.
Did you see our buddies in Guerro Negro?

    • Yeah I did not make it to the mountains. Instead took a tour of the central coast. Not much luck with the waves. Got a few waste to shoulder high. Punta Abreojos looks like it could be an awesome spot with some size. Glad to hear you made it back. CanĀ“t belive you had to push it across. That sounds like a nightmare. Talk soon.
