Leaving the Sea and heading for the Mountains
Yesterday I left the beautiful Gulf of California or more specifically Bajia de los Angeles. I kayaked all around the bay in search of whale sharks but unfortunately did not find any. My dog jumped off the kayak after a pelican and confirmed that chihuahuas are terrible swimmers. I visited the local museum in town which I found very interesting, and had dinner with a nice couple Scott and Petra who spend their summers in LA bay and their winters in palm desert. True desert folks.
Last night I stayed in Guerro Negro’s finest $20 dollar motel. Today I am heading up into the mountains to see about hiring a guide to take me to the world heritage cave paintings of the San Francisco mts. Apparently you need a week to do it and you ride a burro. Should be interesting.
The room was not to bad for twenty dollars. No hot water and the TV only had one channel with a big black box in the center of the screen, and bad audio. They did have free internet which was nice, and they did not seem to mind that Hunter was staying here as well.
